And see the lovely Austin Chronicle review that assures you "audiences won't walk away hungry." And here's the word from Austin Arts Watch:

As funny as My HEB is (and it’s often VERY funny), the most surprising element of the work is its heart. Utilizing the Texas grocery store chain as a magnifying glass, the play examines the microcosm of human experience, casting a glance on what it means to be a neighbor in the state. . . .The play also contains one of the most touching moments I’ve had the honor of experiencing this year.

The meaning of life may very well be found on aisle four, behind the canned tomatoes. In this funny and all too real play, three very distinct individuals intersect in their one shared space: the grocery store. Texans get it!

The production features Kenah Benefield, Janelle Buchanan, and Giselle De La Rosa and is directed by Ken Webster.

My H.E.B. is a longer version of the legendary Best of FronteraFest winner by Raul Garza. Garza is the author of Confessions of a Mexpatriate and Running Bear, both produced by at HPT, as well as many other critically acclaimed plays including Fantasmaville and There and Back.
