Mi Casa es su teatro 2025
Mi Casa Es Su Teatro is a day of curated site-based work performed in local homes and other surprising locales. It’s consistently one of the most popular components of our festival.
This year Mi Casa will be held on Saturday, February 8 from 11am to 6pm. All events take place at or near the Mishpoca Woods Compound in East Austin just south of the river.
Advance day passes ($20) for all the events are currently sold out (though you can check). Limited in-person tickets will be available in person at the door for $7 (cash or credit card) for each sixty or ninety minute block of performances. Stay for the famous afterparty!
You want descriptions of the events? A timeline? A map of the venue? A FAQ with info about tickets, parking, you name it? Of course you do, and it’s all in one place on this handy PDF. Download now and start planning!
This year’s Mi Casa is curated by writer, performer, and producer Malena Pennycook. Their plays include How Should A Conversation Be? (Off-Broadway Playwrights Realm, Playwrights Center, O’Neill NPC Finalist, Princess Grace Finalist); Diving Board (Seoul International Theater Festival, O’Neill NPC Finalist, Crashbox, Teatro Vivo) and Choreomaniac 1518 (UT Austin). Malena is an alum of the New Harmony Project, The Richie Jackson Artistic Fellowship and is a recipient of several recognitions from the Kennedy Center including the KCACTF Latinx Playwriting Award. They hold an MFA in Playwriting from UT Austin and a BFA from the NYU Tisch Experimental Theatre Wing.
