Raves are in for our production of St. Nicholas:

Austin Chronicle: "Conor McPherson wrote one hell of a one-man show, and Ken Webster executes it beautifully. St. Nicholas is storytelling at its finest." And: "a veteran performer, a famous young playwright, and a good evening of theatre. . . . Webster is a joy to watch."

Austin American Statesman: "The strength of the play rests on McPherson's superbly crafted monologue and Webster's reading of it. The language ranges from physical to emotional to a collection of brilliantly turned phrases, constantly setting up an expectation only to discard it for humor or pathos. And Webster is the ultimate storyteller . . . more enthralling than his vampires."

The Austinist: "A captivating escape . . . a deliciously odd one, too. We went into the evening with high expectations. We weren't disappointed. . . . top-rate storytelling."

In this darkly comic one-man piece by the brilliant Irish playwright Conor McPherson, a theater critic relates tales of his life among the vampires. The New York Times called it "spooky" and "delectably droll."

The production features HPT Artistic Director and recent inductee into the Austin Arts Hall of Fame Ken Webster.

The show runs at 8:00 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, September 7 - 29, 2006. There is one Sunday matinee, at 2pm Sunday, September 24. EXTENDED RUN 8pm Wednesday - Saturday November 1 - 4.
