HPT turns 40 this year. and in its honor Artistic Director Ken Webster will perform this piece--a history of the space including tales of Webster's 43 years in local theatre. Funny, charming, chatty, and every dime goes to the theater.

And check out what the Austin Chronicle has to say in their listing:

This show's a fundraiser for Hyde Park Theatre, written and performed by HPT's artistic director Ken Webster, and it's about Hyde Park Theatre--the highs and lows of the company's long history, the ins and the outs, the day-to-day humdrum and (until we see this show we can only imagine) the truly fucking weird. Fascinating from a local perspective, even if you've never been (how?) to HPT, and--as manifested by Webster, live onstage--well worth seeing. He's fierce, funny, obsessive, a true powerhouse of professional passion.

The show will be performed Fridays and Saturdays September 16 - October 8. Tickets are $25 or call 512-479-PLAY (7529) for reservations.

We are asking everyone to wear masks in our small space--thank you so much, and we'll have extras if you forget yours.

Hyde Park Theatre is located at 511 W. 43rd Street. Covered off-street parking for the patrons of HPT is available during performances in the lot at 4315 Guadalupe Street, just north of The Parlor. You can drive through The Parlor's parking lot to reach it. Evening HPT parking also available at the Hyde Park Church of Christ on the northeast corner of 43rd & Avenue B. We are grateful to them both for their generosity.
