Fifteen years ago, Una and Ray had a relationship. They haven't set eyes on each other since. Now she's found him again.

The raves are already coming in for Blackbird. The Statesman called the show "a boiling kettle with no vent for the steam" and "one of the most richly challenging plays for audiences this year."

Robert Faires, on KUT radio:

Over 75 minutes we learn much about these two—how they are now, and how they were then—and come about as close to comprehending people in their situation as we can without being inside their skins. To carry us that far, however, requires actors who are willing to crawl inside these characters' skins . . . In Hyde Park Theatre's production, actors Ken Webster and Xochitl Romero prove their willingness to do just that. . . . Their performances show honesty and commitment.

Ken Webster (Austin Critics' Table and B. Iden Payne Awards for Best Actor) and Xochitl Romero (who recently won raves in Dog Sees God at HPT) star; Mark Pickell of Capital T Theatre (Mr. Marmalade, Happy Days) directs this astonishing play that won the 2007 Olivier Award for Best New Play -- London's most prestigious theater award.

Sunday Herald:
"Harrower's drama positively explodes with unresolved, and possibly unresolvable concerns . . . one of the most daring new plays of recent years."

Daily Telegraph:
"I have rarely seen an audience watch a new work with quite such rapt attention . . . Blackbird is a drama that mixes guilt, memory, and desire into the most potent of theatrical cocktails."
